Overview
You are viewing the full list of points belonging to the currently selected route.
The order in which they are displayed here is the order in which they will be exported. For this reason filtering and sorting options are not available. It is possible to change this order by editing either the sequence number or timestamp of individual points.
Select any item in the list to start the point editor. [Please read the editor help book to more fully understand routes and route point sequencing.]
Manually scroll through the list, or jump to a specific offset by using the goto button on the action bar. Tip: Don't forget that by enabling screen rotation on your android device you have the ability to view the list in portrait and landscape modes.
The list is available in 2 formats. Toggle between formats using the 'clock' button on the action bar:
Multi-line list format
All information for each point (when non-blank/zero) is displayed as follows:
Name (<name>)in large bold type.
sequence information in reduced bold type. The number is the calculated absolute offset from the start of the list and does not exist on file.
Description (<desc >)
Comment (<cmt>)
Timestamp (<time>)
Time is displayed as UTC or local in accordance with the format you chose while viewing the current Route before selecting View route points.
Type (<type >)
Symbol (<sym >)
location data latitude, longitude, elevation, hdop, vdop are all displayed in numeric format.
Single-line list format
This is a one-liner of a slightly more technical nature:
1°=xxxx Primary key of point as represented by the SQLite table row. When first imported this is a simple, consecutive series. [Can be useful in determining if manual operations have later changed the original sequence.]
Sequence number Exactly as it exists in the database (column 'rtp_seq_no') and displayed in bold type. (Always zero for time-sequenced routes.)
Timestamp Same format as above. NB: For time-sequenced routes this is displayed as duration relative to first point in RED.
Name
Item Selection
Selecting an item takes you to its 'Edit' screen where you will also be given the option to add a new point or delete the current point. And where, via the > and < action bar icons, you may scroll to the next/previous item in the list without actually returning to the list.
When you do finally return to the list, the last viewed item will be lightly highlighted.
Action Bar / Hardware menu options
(a) Format toggle: ('Clock' symbol) Toggles between the 2 list formats.
(b) Goto list item: Jump to an absolute position in list. The targeted item will be lightly highlighted. (Useful for navigating large lists.)
(c) Help: ('Information' symbol). This help book.
(d) Re-sequence by time!: This option is only offered for number-sequenced routes. See below.
Re-sequencing by timestamp
This app supports real-time route point recording (via GPS hardware) for time-sequenced routes only. A newly-imported route is number-sequenced. To record additional points you must time-sequence it. This suggests the oldest point becomes the start point of the route and the latest the last.
Ideally all points will already contain meaningful timestamps. If not, you may wish to edit them before re-sequencing. If all points do have valid timestamps, you will nonetheless be warned if any are non-ascending (i.e. you will be warned if re-sequencing will change the order of the points).
If any or all of the points have zero timestamps you will be required (if necessary) to edit the first point with a valid date and time before re-sequencing is allowed. During re-sequencing every timestamp other than the first will be updated with a value 6 minutes greater than the previous, to ensure all points remain in the same physical order.
Tip: When you later manually record a new routepoint you can control its order within the list, if necessary, by editing it with a contrived timestamp!
